OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

Walter A. Groves, President
Centre College of Kentucky
Danville, Kentucky

Dear Walter Groves;

In answer to your letter of September 25th, I am glad to report that Haverford has had for several years a Negro member as a full professor on its faculty, and that its Board of Manager* has not issued any statement concerning the admission of Negro students. Por many years it has been the policy of Haverford to accept students without regard to race or religion, and thus, over the years it has numbered a good many Negroes among the student body.

The question of race has not been a formal issue with respect either to the student body or to the faculty.

Sincerely

Gilbert F. White
